Sometimes a device may become "stuck", unable to sync iCloud data with other devices. This may sometimes occur for only a single app. If you encounter this issue, first ensure that your devices are all up-to-date with the most recent version of iOS, notably a major iOS update such as iOS 7.1 or later.
If the problem still occurs, the following workaround appears to resolve syncing the Yi Jing journal for most users.
Reset iCloud:
- Open the Settings app
- Scroll down until you see the Yi Jing app in the list and tap that
- Under Journal options, set Use iCloud to Off
- Return to the top level of the Settings app
- Tap iCloud
- Under Documents & Data, set Documents & Data to Off
- Restart the device: press and hold the power button until it indicates Slide to power off then slide to power off, wait several seconds, and press and hold the power button again
- Open the Settings app
- Tap iCloud
- Under Documents & Data, set Documents & Data to On
- Return to the top level of the Settings app
- Scroll down until you see the Yi Jing app in the list and tap that
- Under Journal options, set Use iCloud to On
- Restart the Yi Jing app
To confirm that the reset worked, make a change to a journal entry, and wait several minutes to confirm that the change appears on the other device (note: both devices must be connected to a WiFi or cellular network for syncing to occur)
For some users, deleting and reinstalling the app may also resolve the syncing problem.
